Bubble Bobble: Lost Cave – Coming Soon!

Its not a simple modification, but a professional-level fan project that gives Commodore 64 owners a full-fledged sequel nearly 40 years after the original release. This release is based on the original 1987 C64 port, but modernizes and expands it in every way.

Lost Cave was originally a 2012 arcade ROM hack that collected levels omitted from the original arcade version, which Taito had created for various console ports (e.g., NES, Game Boy).

Features

  • 100 new levelsย from TAITO’s console ports of Bubble Bobble, faithfully adapted to the C64 engine
  • Level layoutsย recreated with arcade accuracy in mind
  • Carefully reproduced bubble airflowsย within C64 memory limits
  • Gameplay adjustmentsย to better fit theย C64 game engine
  • Selectedย new bonus itemsย straight from the original console versions
  • Optional Two-Button Controlsย (jump on Button 2), just like the arcade
  • Remastered visuals, fully consistent with Bubble Bobble C64 Remastered
  • Aย pay-what-you-wantย fan-made project, createdย by fans, for fans

The adaptation was made possible thanks to the invaluable collaboration of Andrea โ€œBisbochโ€ Babich, co-creator of the original Lost Cave project, who provided complete level data and personally verified the accuracy of the C64 conversion.
