arcPaint64 (2026, Stilianos (Stello) Doussis)

A browser-based graphics editor for native Commodore 64 art, built around real bitmap and sprite workflows rather than generic pixel-paint habits.

It is built for drawing, editing, animation, ASM-ready import and export, and project saving in one place.

arcPaint64 is designed for C64 graphic artists, demo creators, game graphic designers, and anyone who wants to create graphics within the true limitations of the C64.

Screen modes, sprite modes, colour rules, slot limits, and export targets are all based on how C64 graphics really work.

Supported C64 graphics modes arcPaint64 can handle:

  • Hires bitmap
  • Multicolour bitmap
  • Standard sprite
  • Multicolour sprite
  • Multicolour sprite with standard sprite overlay

It supports both still graphics and frame-based animation workflows.

The editor includes:

  • Pencil
  • Blend Brush
  • Spray
  • Fill
  • Freehand Fill
  • Polygon Fill
  • Line
  • Rect
  • Ellipse
  • Arc
  • Brush Capture
  • Freehand Brush Capture
  • Rectangular Selection
  • Freehand Selection
  • Wrap Shift
  • Flip Horizontal
  • Flip Vertical
  • Rotate Clockwise
  • Scale Width x2
  • Scale Width 1/2
  • Scale Height x2
  • Scale Height 1/2
  • Mirror Horizontal
  • Mirror Vertical
  • Undo
  • Redo

Selections, rectangular or freehand, can also be copied and pasted between open browser tabs or separate browser windows running arcPaint64.

Captured brushes and carried selections can be reused with stencil on or off, so stored colours can be preserved or the shape can be repainted with the current active colour.

As you can see, this is a great tool for everyone, and you can use it anywhere you have a web browser.
