The new and the old C64 aren’t rivals — they’re part of the same legacy.
Honouring the past. Innovating the future.

Here’s a detailed comparison that shows how the Ultimate blends nostalgia with modern tech:

Important notes & Highlights
- The Ultimate is not an emulator – it’s a full hardware recreation using FPGA, offering near-perfect compatibility.
- It supports original cartridges, joysticks, and even datasette ports, preserving authentic use.
- Modern connectors like HDMI and USB make it plug-and-play with today’s setups.
- The mechanical keyboard is not only stylish but far more comfortable than the original membrane.
- Comes bundled with a 64GB USB drive preloaded with 50+ games, demos, music, and stickers.

The Ultimate doesn’t replace the original — it honors it. While nothing can fully replicate the charm of booting up a vintage C64, the Ultimate lets you relive those moments with modern convenience and reliability.
It’s a tribute, not a substitute.

A couple of corrections to the comparison chart. Under storage, the Commodore 64 Ultimate (U64) supports the datacassette and physical floppy drives via the IEC port. Similarly, under Ports, the same information should have been listed.
