WOW! That’s What I Call Shoot ‘Em Ups (2025, Psytronik Software)

A new Commodore 64 game collection released which features 10 SEUCK-based shoot ’em up games designed by Alf Yngve including vertical and side-scrolling shooters.

Alf has used every trick in the book to bring you the ultimate in exciting shoot ’em up action.

The game pack also includes a manual with instructions for each game, among other things. Some games even offer two-player mode with split-screen gameplay.

Here are 10 SEUCK-based shooting games from the collection:

  • Arhena Special Edition – A sci-fi shooter set in a futuristic world.

  • Bank Run – Action-packed chase following a bank heist.

  • Border Blast 3 Enhanced – Defend the border against incoming threats.

  • Cosmic Combat DX – Space battle against alien forces.

  • Double or Nothing – A split-screen shooter with two-player mode.

  • Droid Rumble – Robot warfare in a cyberpunk setting.

  • Flying Cobra RX – Classic aerial shoot ’em up action.

  • Grayhawk – Intense air combat in a futuristic universe.

  • Operation Metalstorm – Military mission in a dangerous war zone.

  • Split Second – Fast-paced action requiring quick reflexes.

The games come with unique user interfaces and music composed by Richard Bayliss, recorded from a real C64. The package includes .crt (cartridge), .d64 (disk), and .prg (program) formats, which can be played on an emulator (such as VICE), a C64 Mini/Maxi device, or real hardware. The collection is available for free download, but there’s also a limited physical edition at the Psytronik Store.

Released exclusively at Zzap! Live 2025.

Based on popularity, many find the games great and entertaining, though some are only compatible with PAL-system C64s, which may pose issues for NTSC users.
